In the short span of four years since their first new lo-fi dreamy album "Future Past Life", STRFKR has released a new minimal, dreamy, and shocking synth ambient album! A departure from the catchy, danceable synth-pop that the band has pursued over the years, this album is a departure from STRFKR's previous albums. Extracting the synthesizers that form the core of the band's sound, STRFKR blends a playful spirit with a voracious experimentalism that is strongly influenced by masters such as Harold Budd and Brian Eno. The album title pays homage to Eno's ambient series, but more than that, STRFKR's musical originality exudes from this challenging work!De La Soul, NAS, Dave East, Wu-Tang Clan's Inspector Deck/Ghostface Killah/Lake Wong and many more guests collaborate on this double album, released on NAS's own label, Mass Appeal Records! The CD contains 23 tracks! The first 11 tracks are instrumental, including DJ Shadow's first orchestral work, and are full of hopeful sounds. The second half of the album features vocals from De La Soul, NAS, Dave East, Wu-Tang Clan's Inspector Deck/Ghostface Killah/Lake Wong, as well as DJ Shadow's early career collaborators Lateef The Truthseeker and Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), who also collaborated with him once again, are included on this album.
