Carbonelli, who some say studied under Corelli in Rome, was a musician from Livorno, Italy, who was active in London at the same time as Handel. After coming to England, he was the leader of the Royal Theatre Orchestra in Drury Lane, and under the patronage of John Manners, 3rd Marquess of Rutland, he produced fascinating works such as this \"Chamber Sonata\". Later, Carbonelli made a spectacular transition from musician to wine merchant (!).
