The master tape had been missing, but was recently unearthed from the orchestra's vast archives. The CD release of the CD was not available in time for Bruckner's bicentennial in 2024 (September 4), so it was made available exclusively on Apple Music in time for his birthday.\n\nThe performance proceeds at a heavy tempo throughout all the movements as in Celibidacke's previous interpretations, but the sound quality of the recording is very high, and the thick, dense playing of the brass and strings in particular is overwhelming. The dynamic range is wide and every detail is recorded with great delicacy.
