Katsaris is a world-renowned Chopin player, and NIFC (Polish National Chopin Institute) had released a rare repertoire of piano works by Stanislaw Monieuszko (PNIFCCD113), who was a contemporary of Chopin, but this time he will perform works by Chopin's disciples and friends. This 2-CD set features piano works by six musicians of the same generation as Chopin (about 10 to 20 years younger than Chopin in age).They were Chopin's students, friends, assistants, and composers\/pianists who continued his legacy by writing, revising, publishing, and teaching Chopin's works. By the end of the 19th century, most of them had disappeared from the concert and publishing markets.
