Description:

Onyx Collective, the coolest jazz group on New York City's streets, has performed with David Byrne, Blood Orange, Princess Nokia, and Wiki (Rat King), and has been praised for their abilities by a wide range of artists. The group's debut album, "Lower East Suite Part Three," was released after Aaron Bondaroff, a leading figure in NY street culture, played their music on his internet radio station, KNOW-WAVE, and the analog copies released on Supureme and Big Dada sold out immediately. The analog vinyl released on Supureme and Big Dada sold out immediately, and the song with Nick Hakim, released as an RSD2018 item, also created a big buzz. The members are an indeterminate formation with band leader Isaiah Bahr on alto/tenor saxophone, Austin Williamson on drums, Walter Stinson on upright bass, and Spencer Murphy on electric bass at the core, and the album includes four songs with saxophonist Roy Nathanson guest-stars.The album, the first all-newly written work, is also filled with a sense of bare presence, from rough improvisations to slow ballads and up-tempo post-bop, as if they were replaying a different story of New York hard bop of the 1950s, born as a reaction to West Coast jazz, while a new generation of jazz is emerging around the world. It is as if they are replaying a different story of New York hard bop of the 1950s, which was born in reaction to West Coast jazz. The artwork for this film, which embodies the dynamism of the new generation of jazz, was created by Julian Schnabel, who directed the films "Basquiat" and "Before Night" and is also a renowned painter.
