In the mid-1970s, while he was enjoying success as a composer and arranger, he heard Shoyuki Akutagawa's performance and resumed his activities as a pianist. This chance encounter eventually led to the birth of this work. The piano is beautiful without wasting a single note. Although he is not talkative, his persuasive power is overwhelming. Incidentally, Akutagawa is said to have played the tape for 26 hours in the making of this album. This is one of the best solo piano recordings.
