After studying in Munich, he studied from 2015 to 2019 with violinist Zakhar Bron, who is known as an excellent teacher. The Lüthi violin heard on this CD was played around the age of 20, and it is not the youthful performance one might imagine. With a fresh sensibility and dripping beauty of tone, this is a mature performance that never lets its momentum carry it away, but lets the listener listen to the work slowly and deliberately. Prokofiev's Violin Sonata No. 2 is smooth and beautiful, but with a modern, bewitching quality. Beethoven's famous Spring Sonata was played in a straightforward, straightforward manner, yet with a wonderful elegance that is essential to the classical repertoire. It is beyond imagination that a young violinist with such advanced technique and beautiful sound could play Waxman's Carmen Fantasy so quietly and deliberately. Lüthi seems to be a mature violinist at such a young age. We can look forward to his future career. The accompaniment by Alexandra Trusova, a pianist from St. Petersburg, Russia, was also very eloquent.
