WRWTFWW is one of the most important Japanese ambient\/new age labels that has produced many new releases and reissues of works by Midori Takada, Kenji Kawai, Yutaka Hirose, Motohiko Hamase, Yasuaki Shimizu, Yoshiro Ojima, and Taro Nohara aka Yakehara. Recorded in September 1998 at ONKIO HAUS, a recording studio favored by many of Japan's leading artists, including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yumi Matsutoya, Akiko Yano, and Motoharu Sano.Released on CD the following year as a Japan-only release from BAJ RECORDS. The first half of this new age minimal music by Takada skillfully combines marimba, drums, and bells with an oriental melody. The second half is a collaboration with erhu player Jiang Jian Hua, whose continental lyricism and Takada's percussion literally weave a story. The album was pressed on 180g heavy vinyl, given a new high-end mix by Takada himself, and mastered at the prestigious Emil Berliner Studios in Berlin, Germany. The high fidelity of the sound image was further achieved by half-speed cutting.
