Volume 1, \"Antal Dorati in London Vol. 1\" contains recordings from July 1956 to July 1961. 29 CD box set. Limited edition. Dorati and the London Symphony Orchestra recorded intensively for two weeks each year after the end of their performance season. Their pursuit of the very highest standards, together with the Mercury engineers, made these albums a brilliant artistic and commercial success. The repertoire includes Dorati's signature tunes. Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky's \"The Nutcracker,\" and Stravinsky's \"The Firebird,\" as well as symphonies by Haydn (Nos. 45, 100, and 101) and Mozart (No. 40), which feature rhythmic sophistication, and orchestral works from Verdi and The collection includes orchestral works from Wagner's operas, as well as ballet music from Khachaturian's \"Gaîne\" and Copland's \"Appalachian Spring\" and \"Billy the Kid.
