His world premiere recording of works by R. The orchestra was awarded the Opus Klassik Award 2020 for its 2019 Offenbach collection. Following the great success of her album of works by female composers, Fam (2023), she will release a new album, Dvorak: Cello Concerto, featuring one of the most famous cello concertos and a moving work by the Ukrainian composer. It was inspired by Gromes' visit to Khiu in December 2023, when she performed the Dvorak Concerto with the Ukrainian National Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor, Volodymyr Silenko, to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The centerpiece of the album is the cello concerto by Dvořák (1841-1904), one of her favorite cello compositions.Weaving together themes of love, loss, and transcendence, it is the pinnacle of Romantic expression and reflects Dvořák's deep yearning for his Bohemian homeland. Aiming to integrate Ukrainian music into the context of European classical music, the album also features works by Ukrainian composers. Valentin Silvestrov's (b. 1937) \"Prayer for Ukraine\" embodies the hope and resilience of the Ukrainian people in their struggle for peace, while capturing the emotional intensity and meditative nature of his music. Hannah Havrilesz's (1958-2022) moving work, \"Tropar,\" is rooted in Ukraine's sacred choral tradition and illustrates the country's cultural heritage and the composer's deep connection to his homeland. Yury Shevchenko's (1953-2022) \"We Are,\" based on the Ukrainian national anthem, and Stepan Czarnetzky's (1881-1944) powerful folk song \"Chervona Kalyna\" evoke the enduring spirit of a people yearning for peace, sovereignty, and freedom.
