Shostakovich by Pochekin Ivan Pochekin, born in Moscow in 1987, is a violinist who won the first prize at the Paganini Competition in Moscow in 2005. His younger brother Mikhail is also a violinist, and there are recordings of them playing together. He has already released a disc of Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 5 on the naxos label, and now he challenges Shostakovich's concerto on the Profil label.
