Description:

The much-talked-about trilogy of da Ponte operas from the Salzburg Festival 2006-2009 directed by Klaus Guth is being re-released in a boxed set! Mozart's Da Ponte Opera Trilogy from the Salzburg Festival 2006/2009, directed by Klaus Guth, is being re-released in a boxed set. With conductors Arnoncourt, de Billy, and Adam Fischer, and a stellar lineup of singers including Anna Netrebko, Ildebrandt d'Arcangelo, and Patricia Petibon, this is a performance of great musical perfection. The Vienna version of "The Marriage of Figaro" with convincing music by the master Arnoncourt, the Vienna version of "Don Giovanni" with Guth's brilliant direction, and "Cosi fan tutte" depicting the transformation of young people in a villa in the woods are all shown live in this video of the performance that was greatly acclaimed. Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro, the first of the Da Ponte trilogy at the Salzburg Festival by Klaus Guth in his complete opera "The Marriage of Figaro".Goutt's production is unique in that the appearance of Cupid, who is not in the original work, and the elaborate psychological portrayal of the characters are unique, as is Arnoncourt's informative performance style and his strong assertiveness. Arnoncourt's approach here is truly interesting, as he uses a slow tempo to plumb the depths of "Figaro," treating the light-hearted slapstick as a profound human drama that also reflects socialist elements such as class issues and revolutionary ideals, and thus gaining a unique persuasive power. The performance, in which star singers of our time such as D'Arcangelo and Netrebko performed their roles with rich individuality, was representative of the festival held in the holy city of Salzburg in the special year of Mozart's 250th birthday.
