Description:

Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841), a virtuoso guitarist representing Italy in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, along with Mauro Giuliani, is known for establishing 19th century guitar playing and teaching methods, not only in his native Italy, but also in Paris where he settled. He is also known for his immense popularity there before the arrival of Fernando Sor. The refreshing melody, which seems to evoke a Mediterranean landscape, is played by two Italian guitarists on two 19th century guitars (R&W Davis, made circa 1830-35, and Francois Joseph Gerard, made circa 1840).
