Description:

This is the second collection of works for solo piano by one of the outstanding musicians of the 20th century, the Romanian-born Georges Enesco (1881-1955). This work traces the evolution of Enesco's style over a period of about 30 years, from his early "Suite" (1901-1903), which incorporates somber folk songs, to the imposing "Sonata No. 3" (1935), in which he developed his own style of expression. This is a valuable series that offers a different side to the violinist Enesco, who has a strong image as a violinist. Recorded in 2016 by Hoss de Solaun from Spain, who won first prize at the 13th Georges Enesco International Piano Competition in Bucharest. (C)RS
