Description:

A promising young violist, debut album with hidden masterpieces!Born in Los Angeles in 1999, violist Emma Wernik won the "Barbirolli Prize" at the 2019 Tartis International Viola Competition and the 2017 Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition. She is the winner of the competition. Her debut album, "The Viennese Viola (The Viennese Viola)," is a collection of 19th- and 20th-century works by Wernick, who was born and raised in the United States of Austrian and German ancestry, exploring her roots and coming to feel close to her cultural and musical identity. A collection of works for viola and piano by Austrian composers of the early years of the 20th century. The pieces she has chosen for the program also embody one of the themes of her performing activities: her commitment to "bringing up buried works. The works by Hans Gall, a granddisciple of Brahms, offer a glimpse of his influence and are hidden masterpieces that are full of melancholy and familiarity. Tokyo M-Plus
