Bonifazio Agioli is best known for his appointment as the first director of the Milan Conservatory of Music during the Napoleonic regime. In addition to teaching, Agioli also composed, writing a series of instrumental, vocal, and educational works. Earlier, he developed an interest in European music and developed his own unique musical outlook through his interactions with the many foreigners and musicians who visited Italy. This is an interesting collection of works by a musician who was active mainly in Italy amidst the rapidly changing times.
