In contrast to the band's outpouring of DC and San Diego sounds, Takujiro's solo album, "takujirosadae," is an oddly-tuned acoustic guitar solo album. In contrast to the band's riotous impulsiveness that swallows the sounds of DC and San Diego, his solo work is an introspective world centered around an irregularly tuned acoustic guitar performance. The performance incorporates delicate and beautiful arpeggios, the texture of the sound recorded through a cassette deck, the simple but ethereal atmosphere, and every detail of the music and spirituality inherited and sublimated from great predecessors such as Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Elliott Smith, and David Pajo. The music and spirituality of these great artists are heard in every detail.
