Tony Banks made his debut in 1969 as keyboardist for the big progressive rock band Genesis. His activities are not only limited to rock music, but also include writing soundtracks for movies and performing as a soloist. Banks, who released "SIX" (8.572986) on NAXOS in 2012, now presents "FIVE," a piece he composed for the Cheltenham Music Festival. He says, "I didn't want to make it a suite of five pieces, as one might expect when one hears the number five," but as a result, "I couldn't resist fate," and it consists of "five pieces.
