A collection of works by Italian composer and classical guitarist Carlo Domeniconi, who began playing guitar at the age of 13, graduated from the Conservatory in Pesaro at the age of 17, studied composition at the Berlin University of Music (now Berlin University of the Arts) in 1966, and trained younger students for 20 years as a professor. This album is a good example of Domeniconi's qualities, with a good balance of works born from Mediterranean culture and those inspired by Turkish culture. The concerto, titled "Mediterranean," is an exotic work with a North African and Middle Eastern feel. The Amadeus Guitar Duo is responsible for the premiere. You will enjoy a variety of works: "Oyun" with Turkish melodies, the improvisational "Triogy" for solo guitar, the melancholy "Blue Toccata," and the "Chaconne" created from Bach's chaconne.
