Description:

Omnipresent expressiveness! Schuricht taught the Swiss Romande the secrets of Bruckner performance! Anselme and the Swiss Romande Carl Schuricht (1880-1967) was invited to perform with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR) in 1944 at the request of Anselme. Anxious about his health, Schuricht remained in Geneva at Anselme's urging and resumed his activities in Switzerland after the war with Anselme's help. In 1948, Schuricht was invited to be the guest conductor of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva, and in 1953, he performed Bruckner's work (No. 9) for the first time, followed by the Adagio from No. 7 in 1957 and the complete No. 7 four years later in 1961. In 1957, they performed the Adagio from No. 7. Schuricht, who was also an ambassador of Bruckner in the Swiss Romand area, is the only postwar pioneer of Bruckner symphony performances. Not even Furtwängler, who followed his friend Schuricht to Vaud, took up Bruckner's symphonies in Geneva or Lausanne between 1947 and 1954" (Michel Schwie / translated by Shinpei Ogita, Yuriko Tsukatani and Masaki Sato, "The Great Conductor Carl Schuricht: Life and Art," Alpha Beta) "(Hermann Lang, reviewing a 1953 concert in La Mandier) "This maestro imparted to the orchestra members everything from one to ten, the concentration of passion and conviction necessary for the performance of this composer's omnipresent expressive power. (Ibid.) It is above all due to the incomparable conductor Carl Schuricht that we have been able to achieve such success in bringing Bruckner's prestige back to the present day. The sound of the strings, which have been described as "silky to the touch," the woodwinds, with their crystal brilliance and purity, and the brass, with their remarkable roaring power, are incomparably appealing.Above all, you will be overwhelmed by the passion and concentration of the old Schulicht, whose profound and omnipresent expressiveness you will not feel that he is in his later years! Long-awaited! A newly discovered recording of Bruckner No. 7. Bruckner is Schuricht's standard repertoire, and while Nos. 8 and 9 are famous for the EMI recording with the VPO, the only known recording of No. 7 was made in 1964 with the Hague Philharmonic Orchestra (Concert Hall, now Co). In the midst of all this, Artus released a 63 live recording with the French National, which became a bestseller. And now this '61 OSR disc, a venerable recording, is of great interest! Epitagraph (the label) obtained the source from the RSR (Radio Suisse Romande) archives. The sound quality is much better than the RARE MOTH label CD-R discs released in the past, and the latest remastering at Sekiguchidai Studio has restored the sound even more solidly. Moreover, this time it is released on UHQCD, the definitive high sound quality CD! This is a limited release, so please purchase as soon as possible. King International
