CD5 is an "Evening of Songs by Rossini" by the mature Marilyn Horne in 1992, and CD6 is a collection of baroque arias sung by the famous baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Each of them is included in this CD. Total recording time: 426 minutes ◎Nicolai Gedda (1925-2017)...Swedish tenor of Russian descent, who boasted a wide repertoire with his command of seven languages and clear, beautiful voice. ◎Martina Arroyo (1937-): American soprano. After performing at the Zurich Opera, she became a florid soprano at the Metropolitan Opera from 1965 until 1978. She was highly acclaimed for her singing of Verdi and Puccini. ◎Peter Anders (1908-1954): Tenor who made his debut in 1931 and was active mainly in Germany.She sang at the Bavarian State Opera from 1938 to 1940 and at the Berlin State Opera from 1940 to 1948, and thereafter sang throughout Europe, until her death at the age of 46 in a car accident. Marilyn Horne(1934-): American mezzo-soprano who made her debut in Los Angeles in 1954 and sang mainly at the Metropolitan Opera in the 1970s. She is especially well known for her performance as the pants in Rossini's "Tancredi" and other Rossini operas. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau(1925-2012): German baritone. With his well-controlled voice and intelligent expression, he is hailed as one of the best singers of the 20th century, and has left a legacy of excellent recordings of both opera and song.
