This album is a collection of six trios for oboe, bassoon, and clarinet. Three of the pieces are by composer Jaroslav Kruczek, who is also a conductor and recording producer. Kruczek, who was born near South Bohemia, studied composition at the Prague Conservatory, and studied electronic music and Czech folk music, has led the ensemble Musica Bohemia for more than 20 years, performing works based on folk music and contemporary works that have captivated audiences, and all of the pieces have a very easy listening style that effectively uses Bohemian folk songs. The style of the music is very easy to listen to. Gemrodt is little known, but his "Moments" is a delightful piece with a flowing melody. Furnik was a composer who studied under Novak and was a gifted writer of scripts and short stories, using his various talents. This trio is a technical work that makes the most of the characteristics of all the instruments. The "Toccata" by Svoboda, who is active in the U.S., is a short piece colored by a melody that is just pleasant. It leaves a vivid impression. Naxos Japan
