Schnabel, who completed his first complete sonata cycle and made a name for himself as a Beethoven player, also left three symphonies and was actively engaged as a composer. His repertoire as a pianist consisted of German and Austrian works up to the time of Brahms, but his style was often modern, with complex rhythms and many polytonal and atonal works. Like his own piano expression, his compositions are highly spiritual, but they are also lyrical and charming at the same time. The encore piece, "Four Waltzes from Old Vienna," which distills the essence of Joseph Strauss's waltzes into an extremely short piece of one or two minutes, is also a must-see, Jenny Lin is a pianist who was born in Taiwan, studied around the world at a young age, and is now active in the United States.
