Description:

Today, Damasz is known primarily for his technical works for flute. However, he was an excellent pianist who studied under Cortot and won first prize in the piano department at the Paris Conservatory. As a composer, he was unable to ride the wave of the times, writing works with graceful melodies in the Impressionist and Neoclassical styles, rather than the avant-garde style that had become mainstream since the first half of the 20th century, and for a time his existence was forgotten. Recently, however, his stylishness, reminiscent of Poulenc and Ravel, has been reevaluated, and his works are being performed more frequently. You can enjoy his elegant and technical exercises, classical sonatas, and other interesting works. Naxos Japan
