Beethoven (1770-1827)

Description:

Profil's masterpieces have been carefully converted to SACD hybrid format! The Profil label's Vandt masterpiece is now available on SACD hybrid format, licensed by Altus label and remastered for this hybrid format. The album features two different live performances of "Rural" and "Destiny" from 1992 and 1994, respectively. The interpretations are basically the same, but the 1992 performance can be said to be the perfection of controlled playing, with a rigor that is unrelenting. On the other hand, in 1994, the musicianship of Vant is shifting toward a more free and open style of playing, and we can sense a change in his musicality. The difference between the two is small but significant, and it is interesting to compare them. The "Fate" of 1992, with its perfect formative beauty, and the "Rural" of 1994, with its supple fluidity, are irresistible. Both years have their own charms, and each is a masterpiece filled with Vant's unique virtuosity. The opening movement of 1992's "Fate" is a precise, rigid, and precise. Even in the finale, the stomping rhythms come to the fore. In the 1994 performance, although the details are more precise, there is a stronger sense of horizontal flow in addition to the vertical. Even in the finale, the width of the dunamikku is wider, leading to a more natural sense of exultation, and the horizontal awareness of the 1994 recording becomes clearer in No. 6, "Rural. On the other hand, the storm scene in the fourth movement has a faster tempo than in the 1992 version, achieving a more three-dimensional balance. The ensemble is also more mature. In addition, the final movement, just before the coda, where the first theme appears pianissimo in the strings, shows a more emotionally charged expression.
