Description:

The "Hero" is a masterpiece of Beethoven's world, played with a strong sound and built up by a masterful performance, and I would recommend it as the best of all the recordings of the same piece. The Profil label's Vandt masterpiece is now available on SACD hybrid format. This is a collection of the best Beethoven recordings that cannot be missed when talking about Vant. The first and third works were performed live on the same day, and from the first, the sound was truly powerful, tight, and sculptural. In "Hero," the sound was further deepened, and it emerges before the listener as an overwhelming structure of sound. The timpani in the funeral march is so sublime that it is almost frightening. This is a great performance representing Vant's 90's. While based on a solid and completed interpretation, it also makes use of the excitement that only a live performance can bring, and one can feel the attitude of moving forward to a greater dimension. This is exactly what I thought. This is exactly what I thought when I heard Günter Wandt's performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 with the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin in 1996.The performance was broadcast on an FM program introducing live performances in Germany. I was completely captivated by the extreme delicacy of the music. (omission) This Beethoven with the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin has a natural sense of breathing that is not found in a "perfect" cycle. There is an airiness. The orchestra overreacted, creating a more statically three-dimensional sound, but at other times it conveyed the exuberance that naturally emerged from the ensemble. Even such irregularities are pleasantly felt. (Music critic Atsushi Suzuki) King International
