Louis Couperin's Irregular Preludes Collection! Johannes Maria Bogner, a keyboardist and lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, has been building a reputation for his recordings of Froberger's clavichord works (FB1703213) and other works. The new recording is a collection of club sang (harpsichord) works by Louis Coupland (1626-1661), uncle of François Coupland, the great Coupland. Said to be the first composer to introduce the "prélude non mougeret," notated with irregular rhythms, note values, and beats, Louis Coupland's works represent the pinnacle of the free performance art of the 17th century.
