March 2018 live video of Andris Nelsons, the 21st Kapellmeister of the Mozart & Tchaikovsky Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra by Nelsons & the Gewandhaus Orchestra. This video is the final performance in a series of celebratory concerts held in February and March 2018 to commemorate Nelsons' appointment and the orchestra's 275th anniversary. The program features Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique," two works of melancholic melancholy and emotion. Mozart's Symphony No. 40 is an exceptionally minor symphony (the other being No. 25), and when the opening theme of the first movement resonates, the atmosphere in the hall changes dramatically. Nelsons brings out the rich and deep sound quality of the Gewandhaus Orchestra in a positive way. And Mozart's pathos is followed by Tchaikovsky's "Pathetique. It is said that Tchaikovsky respected Mozart so much that he wrote a work called "Mozartina. Symphony No. 6 is the masterpiece of Tchaikovsky's last years.
