This is a studio solo album by Johannes Schmeling, released in '06, an electronics instrumental work about a modern city and its inhabitants, which encompasses various elements and problems, on his own label, Victoria Park Records. It was released on his own label, Victoria Park Records. In an interview at the time, Johannes Schmeling described the album as follows In September 2005, we had a new setup with computers and software instruments and started working in the studio day after day. One day, my friend Peter Uhlig, who had done sessions with me in the 70s, shared with me some artwork he had drawn, and I saw a very close connection between the music I was working on and what he was trying to express in his drawings, and the idea for "Instant City" was born." This work is a further refinement of the technique of creating a variety of mental expressions with irregular images and sounds/melodies that was also demonstrated in TANGERINE DREAM, and is one of the most creative and excellent works by the band members in recent years.
