A collection of adagios that musicalize the composers' views on women, from Wagner to late Mahler and early Schoenberg and Berg. The common theme of all works is "love". Wagner composed "Siegfried Pastorale" as a surprise present for his beloved wife Cosima on her birthday. However, she was a woman he plundered from his friend Hans von Bülow. Schoenberg's "Pure Night" is a woman carrying the seed of a man she does not like. Mahler's Symphony No. 10 is the madness of a composer who suspects the wrongdoing of his beloved wife and becomes obsessed with delusion. Berg's Lyric Suite also depicts an adulterous woman and shows us composers' relationship with women and their creations.
