As these technologies were embraced by the generation of artists following Kain, the framework of electronic music was completely reshaped. As a result, it can be said that *Cybernetics III* was a work that foreshadowed a major transformation in creative thinking. Luigi Nono was a composer who was widely known and highly regarded throughout his life. A central figure in postwar serial music, he rose to prominence in the 1950s and, alongside Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez, became one of the “trinity of avant-garde music.” *Contrapunto dialettico alla mente* was composed for two-channel magnetic tape in 1968, a year in which Nono was deeply involved in the international student movement and the anti-Vietnam War protests.
