In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the New Year's Concert in 2020 with Nelsons' first appearance at the podium! will make his first appearance at the podium of the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert. Andris Nelsons, 40, from Latvia, is currently Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Kapellmeister of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. He first conducted the Vienna Philharmonic in 2010, replacing Seiji Ozawa, who was on medical leave. He also accompanied the orchestra on its tour to Japan, leaving a strong impression on Japanese music fans, and since then he has built a close relationship with the orchestra.This is an album that offers the full enjoyment of the image of Beethoven in the 21st century, with a youthful and smart wind blowing through the traditional sound.
