This release of the British rock treasures, Faces, features the latest remastered material with full participation by band members Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Kenny Jones!
◆The Faces have created a lifetime's worth of spectacular rock 'n' roll in the five short years they've been active. Woodpecker heads, satin costumes, sequins and long scarves... The loose, chic quintet that dominated the rock scene in the early '70s remains one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time and continues to influence many artists.
◆FACES AT THE BBC - COMPLETE BBC CONCERT & SESSION RECORDINGS 1970-1973" is a luxury 9CD+Blu-ray box set containing all the BBC studio session recordings in existence, including the BBC concerts they performed between 1970 and 1973. FACES AT THE BBC - COMPLETE BBC CONCERT & SESSION RECORDINGS 1970-1973" is now available!
◆The collection, which includes many rare and previously unreleased recordings, features the latest remastered material with the full participation of band members Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Kenny Jones, and the Blu-ray includes the latest restored footage of their 1972 appearance on Sounds for Saturday. The Blu-ray features the latest restored footage from their 1972 appearance on "Sounds for Saturday," including a performance of "Borstal Boys" at the height of their powers of rock 'n' roll and a joyful spirit that continues to inspire generations to come. The film is a collection of the latest restored version of the "Borstal Boys" show.
◆Also included with this release is a 48-page booklet, which includes the latest comments from the three members, plus archival quotes from Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, and legendary BBC DJ John Peel, as well as numerous rare and previously unpublished photographs and detailed liner notes by broadcaster Gary Crowley, including a recent interview with Jeff Griffin, who produced all of the Faces' BBC concert appearances. The book also features numerous rare and previously unpublished photographs and detailed liner notes by broadcaster Gary Crowley, including a recent interview with Jeff Griffin, who produced all of the Faces' BBC concert appearances.
◆Once thought to be lost, these rare BBC recordings were discovered in Faces' own archives and private collections. As a supplement, in fact, only one BBC session recording, in which three songs were performed, remains lost to this day, but all other concert and session recordings are covered in this album. Rare sources include a stereo mix of the May 31, 1971 performance at the Paris Cinema concert (a mono mix was used for the actual broadcast), and a recording from February 1973, but not actually broadcast due to the band's lighthearted jokes made onstage to the rowdy crowd. The BBC was concerned about a light joke the band told on stage to a rowdy audience, so it was not actually broadcast.
