Description:

The following six points can be pointed out as the main points of this performance and recording: (1) The performance as a whole was free of glaring errors, and it was full to the end. (2) There are no particular malfunctions in the tapes or ageing of the recordings that would reduce the overall impression of the performance, and there is no lack of volume or deterioration of sound quality in the final movement. (3)The first movement's development fugue section is fuller and more powerful due to the magnificent expression at the beginning of the recapitulation section, and there is an ideal balance in the expression of each movement. (4) The third movement is deeply expressive and refreshing, and its natural flow is superb. (5) The music was enthusiastic from the beginning, and the conductor, orchestra, soloists, chorus, and audience all seemed to be united in their commitment to the music and the performance.
