The \"Scythian Suite,\" on the other hand, was originally planned as a ballet music about the Scythians, \"Ara and Lolly,\" for Diaghilev's Russian ballet company, but Diaghilev was not interested, and it was rewritten as the orchestral suite \"Scythian Suite\" for concert use. This powerful work, full of barbaric destructiveness reminiscent of \"The Rite of Spring,\" strongly evokes the supremacy of the young Prokofiev. Prokofiev has been an important repertoire for Sohiev and the Deutsche Symphonieorchester Berlin every season, and their chemistry has already been proven with \"Ivan the Terrible\".
