Leonard Cohen's new album, Thanks for the DanceThe new album, Thanks for the Dance, is not a souvenir collection of B-sides and outtakes, but an unexpected harvest of exciting, vibrant new songs and a rare artist, Leonard It is a continuation of Cohen's final work. Although he passed away in 2016, one can sense that he is still very much alive and well in his work. Seven months after his father's death, Adam Cohen retreated to the renovated garage in his backyard, just down the street from Leonard's house, to once again work face to face with his father and be with his voice the entire time. Leonard had asked his son to complete these fragmentary pieces of work, rough sound sketches, sometimes little more than voices, left over from their former collaboration, 2016's You Won't It Darker. This outstanding new work has been made in many different places. Javier Mas, the great Spanish Laud player who has accompanied Leonard on stage for the past eight years on tour, flew from Barcelona to Los Angeles to capture his soul on Leonard's own guitar. In Berlin, Adam invited his friends and colleagues to lend their ears and talents to a musical event called the People Festival.Damien Rice and Leslie Feist sang, and Richard Reed Parry of Arcades Fire played bass. Bryce Dessner of The National played guitar and composer Dustin O'Halloran played piano. The Berlin-based choir Cantus Domus sang and the Stargaze Orchestra played. Renowned Montreal producer Daniel Lanois joined the band to make the simple arrangements beautiful and rich. The Shaar Hashomayim Choir, which played an important role in the sound of the previous album, participated on one song, and Patrick Watson showcased his unparalleled talent as co-producer on one song. Back in Los Angeles, Jennifer Warnes, Leonard's passionate keeper, sang background vocals, and Beck joined on guitar and mouth harp. Michael Chavez, who masterfully recorded and mixed "You Want It Darker," did the engineering and mixing. The resulting "Thanks for the Dance" is his latest album, a powerful reminder of the essence of Leonard Cohen's sound. In composing and arranging music to accompany his words, we chose his most distinctive musical traits. We hope to stay with him forever," says Adam Cohen. The most moving thing about the new work is the surprised reaction of the listeners. One by one, everyone says, 'Leonard is alive! ' one by one, everyone says that." Thanks for the Dance is an unexpected blessing, a gift of beauty and power. Leonard Cohen's voice has not been silenced. The dance-like dynamic continues to this day.

Tracklisting:

.Happens to the Heart
.Moving On
.The Night of Santiago
.Thanks for the Dance
.It's Torn
.The Goal
.Puppets
.The Hills
.Listen to the Hummingbird
