The first installment of the new La Venexiana! Bononcini's "The Conversion of Maria Magdalano"! La Venexiana, a vocal ensemble founded by Italian genius Claudio Cavina, has been a specialist in early Italian music and the most important group of Italian madrigale. The new group is directed by Gabriele Palomba, a lute and theorbo player who has played bass in many leading old music ensembles such as La Venexiana, Ensemble Aurora, I Turquini, and La Risonanza, replacing Claudio Cavina, the founder of the ensemble. This is the first recording under the new direction of Gabriele Palomba, lute and theorbo player. Giovanni Battista Bononcini (1670-1747), who was famous in Europe at the time and a powerful figure at the Holy Roman Emperor's court, wrote an oratorio for the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I in 1701, based on the popular story of Mary Magdalene. s Conversion," a recording of the oratorio.
