The Bellerolina Ensemble, which ambitiously "discovers" music and brings it to you, has released its latest album Bellerolina Ensemble's sensational 2018 CD once again. For perhaps the first time, the clarinet quintet and sonatas by Hans Weisse can be heard on this SACD. These pieces were first successfully performed by the musical discovery team led by clarinetist Friederike Roth. Pleasant late Romantic music meets ambitious tonality and brings out the unique charm of the pieces themselves. Less is known about the composer Hans Weise, who was born in Vienna and studied with Heinrich Schenker in the U.S. beginning in 1908, was invited to New York in 1930, and died mysteriously in 1940 at the age of 48. It was while in Vienna that he composed most, until he was invited to Berlin by Furtwängler to teach Schenker's composition method.[SACD Hybrid Version] Universal Music/IMS
