The old Calliope's masterpiece is back! Chabrier by Annie d'Arco, a famous French female pianist, Annie d'Arco (1920-1998), a famous female pianist from Marseille who entered Paris Conservatory at the young age of 14 and studied under Marguerite Long, a leading female pianist and educator in France in the first half of 20th century. Although she graduated from the Paris Conservatory with first prize in 1938, Annie Darko had a difficult career due to the outbreak of World War II. This performance of "Chabrier" was recorded in 1974, produced by Jacques Le Calvet, the founder and artistic director of the former Calliope, after she won second prize at the Geneva International Music Competition in 1946 and made a name for herself around the world. Annie Darko's Chabrier, with its rich expression, color, and bold dynamics, has been remastered and brought back to life. Tokyo M-Plus
