Although he was not himself a guitarist, he left several masterpieces for guitar, including the two-volume collection of guitar pieces, \"Apunti,\" originally written for pedagogical purposes at the urging of musicologist and guitarist Ruggiero Chiesa. Tedesco discussed the details of the work with Chiesa on numerous occasions, incorporated his suggestions into the first volume, and jointly revised the complete work. The second volume, composed shortly before Tedesco's death, failed to make these revisions, leaving it in an unsatisfactory instrumental form, and the third and fourth volumes unfortunately never saw the light of day.
