The three concertos by the incomparable 20th century composer Francis Poulenc are performed by "charming virtuosos" who combine grace and sensitivity with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. Christian Ihle Hadran (b.1983), who has brought a breath of fresh air to the Norwegian music scene with his wide range of works from Scarlatti, Mozart, Schumann, Chopin, Brahms, Sinding, and contemporary Norway, played two piano concertos. Håvard Gimse (b.1966), the "number one" pianist of Norway, internationally known for his complete recordings of Sibelius' piano works and trusted by Arve Tellefsen and Tors Mørk, plays the second piano in the two concertos.Tomas Senagor (Snagor) (b.1969), chief conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) from 2009 to 2012, conducts the two pieces. The Organ Concerto was recorded at Oslo Cathedral. It is performed solo by the cathedral organist Kåre Norrstoga (b.1954) and conducted by Peter Silvai (b.1971), whose main repertoire is music from Beethoven to late Romanticism, and who has been entrusted with many premieres and recordings of contemporary Norwegian music.
