Description:
Born in Italy, Torbianelli studied fortepiano at the Schola Cantorum in Basel and is a widely acclaimed fortepiano player. In this album, he combines one of Beethoven's greatest masterpieces, the Diabelli Variations, with a work from the same period, the Six Bagatelles. This large-scale work, in which Beethoven in his later years devoted all of his compositional skills, is a fitting demonstration of a performer's skill and the performance of his instrument. Torbianelli uses a Konrad Graf made in 1827, and his superb performance ideally conveys the sound of Beethoven's time. Naxos Japan
