The Jasper String Quartet was founded in 2008. The Jasper String Quartet is a highly acclaimed ensemble that has won numerous awards since its inception. The quartet has a wide repertoire ranging from Haydn and Beethoven to works by Berg, Ligeti, and other contemporary composers, and this collection of works by Kernis and Debussy marks their 10-year journey. They have been dreaming of performing Kernis's yet-to-be-performed String Quartet No. 3 since their first performance of String Quartet No. 2 in 2010. Now that they finally have the piece, they are delighted to perform the ever-changing music. For the album, they have added Debussy's string quartet to further expand the story.
