A native of Estonia, Oostberg graduated from the Conducting Department of the Estonian Conservatory of Music in 2004, and is a multi-talented composer and conductor as well as a film actor. The choral music on this album is characteristic of recent Baltic choral music, with melodies quietly spun over expansive bass lines, spiced by the occasional slight dissonance, which adds exquisite beauty. Founded in 2010, the Collegium Musicale is one of Estonia's leading chamber choirs. With a wide repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary music, the choir actively introduces the works of Estonian composers such as Pärt and Thule, and serves as an ambassador of Estonian music.
