Sonatas No. 1 and No. 2 both begin with an introduction and an allegro, followed by an allegro rondo in a powerful "slow-rapid-rapid" structure. The incandescent musical ideas are appealing. The piano part is said to have been played by Beethoven himself, and the ambitious writing style reminiscent of his early piano sonatas can be seen in the piano part. The two variations on "The Magic Flute" show that Beethoven was a master of variations from his youth. The cello singing is also very varied.
