Simon Callaghan is a renowned British pianist who has discovered many unknown piano works and is also active in a duo with the Japanese violinist Heki Komachi, who lives in London. Callaghan, who made his Hyperion debut with the Romantic Piano Concerto series, now releases a solo album. Jean-Louis Nicodet was a pianist, conductor, and composer in late 19th century Germany (then Kingdom of Prussia). He also left behind such major works as the symphonic opera "The Sea," written for orchestra, organ, and chorus, and the symphonic chant "Gloria! and a symphonic chant "Gloria!" for orchestra, organ, and chorus, as well as an arrangement of Chopin's "Allegro for Concert" for piano.
