Slowdive has a familial energy that stems from their deep history. Everything is alive is dedicated to Goswell's mother and Scott's father, who passed away in 2020. 'For some of us, there has been a profound personal transition. That crossroads is reflected in the multi-layered emotional tenor of Slowdive's music. Although \"everything is alive\" is heavy with experience, each note is calm, wise, and inevitably hopeful. Its unique alchemy subtly embodies both sadness and gratitude, a sense of groundedness and elation,\" says Goswell. The album began with writer\/producer Halstead making demos at home.Experimenting with modular synths, Halstead initially envisioned \"everything is alive\" as a \"minimal electronic record.\" Ultimately, the band's collective decision to return to their signature reverb-drenched guitars permeated their initial conception of the composition.
