[The Art of Claudio Arrau] Claudio Arrau (1903-1991) was a Chilean pianist active mainly in the United States. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, this is an encore pressing of the "The Art of Claudio Arrau" series released in 2011. Arrau recorded all of Chopin's "Nocturnes," of which 14 are included here. The tempo is slow, the expression is very intense, and the music is large in scale and rich in poetry. This is a Japan-exclusive project. Recorded September 1977 & March 1978 at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam
