This collection of orchestral works by Granados consists of three collections produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death in 2016. Granados, who was highly regarded as a pianist, composed many piano pieces, and his romantic works reminiscent of Chopin and Liszt are loved by many people even today. His orchestral works, however, have been neglected and are not even listed in Sanseido's music dictionary, let alone heard in performance. However, in this 3-CD set, you can listen to a wide variety of Granados' orchestral works, including some world premiere recordings. CD1] is a world premiere recording. CD1 contains three works including "Suite on Galician Folk Songs," which is a wild and lively work. CD2 also contains three world premiere recordings, including the magnificent symphonic poem "Dante" and the interlude from "Goyescas," which is usually heard in a piano arrangement. CD3 contains three works, including a Casals restored version of the dramatic music "Liliana," whose score has unfortunately been lost. All are beautiful works that showcase Granados' exotic taste.
