The film thoroughly covers the early Beatles' struggle to make their debut, from the Decca audition on New Year's Day, 1962, when they were unsuccessful, through the Polydor sessions in Germany in 1961, to their first recording at EMI in June 1962. The members of the band were solidified with John, Paul, and George, and after days with Pete Best (drums), Ringo joined the band.
